With the creation of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), 22 federal agencies were merged into the new department. Several of these were combined with other agencies, names were changed, and their missions were expanded, modified, or eliminated.

Provide your classmates with a brief history (2-3 paragraphs) of that component, including which agencies were merged to create the component you chose, and what happened to its legacy missions and functions after its merger into DHS.
