One of the executive team members is of the opinion that the Public Health Unit (PHU) is not an essential health service and can therefore be targeted for significant funding cuts. The chief executive officer has sought your opinion on how to respond to this suggestion.
Prepare a briefing document to submit to your CEO outlining why the PHU is an essential health service. In order to build a compelling argument, briefly outline the functions of the PHU and the significance of the role that it plays. Please ensure that you support your argument with evidence.
