This weeks readings highlight mindfulness based exercises as a way of combating depression, anxiety and stress. There are many ways we can be mindful in our day one that may be more enjoyable for some of us is mindful eating. Read the attached PDF and complete the introductory mindful eating exercise highlighted on the second page of the document (you can a different food it does not have to be an apple, I recommend trying it with one of your favorite foods). In your discussion take a moment to talk about how you currently eat (on the go, alone in your room, with family or friends, at the computer etc). What kind of impact can this have your emotional state? Is it a positive experience for you, does it create other outlets for our emotional wellbeing? Additionally reflect on the mindful eating experience: What did you notice while chewing? Why did you swallow? Was the food no longer tasty? Did it dissolve? Were you bored? How can these little moments of mindfulness help us to improve our emotional state.

Remember all discussion boards are 250 words minimum and must be written in paragraph format. Additionally, you must respond to at least 1 other persons post with minimum of 3 sentences in your response.
