HIPAA is a very important part of the health information industry. It has also evolved over the years to include the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules as well as the HITECH-Omnibus Final Rule to help protect a patient’s rights to security and confidentiality. For the final project for HIT-160, you will assess the processes, policies and procedures that you learned throughout the class in regards to these rules. You will research, provide an outline, rough draft and final paper assessing the information in regards to the relationship between the health information industry and HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and HITECH.

A 3-5 page research paper with title and reference pages will be submitted by the end of the Summer Quarter. References will be cited using APA citations. A title page and reference page is not included in the total pages.
