Shoreway Environmental Center – What happens to your recycling, compost, and garbage? The Shoreline Environmental Center is the recycling and transfer station that serves communities from Burlingame to East Palo Alto. The facility accepts garbage, recycling, and compost from commercial waste haulers and the general public. They also accept household hazardous waste from residents. Materials are collected, sorted, and transported to landfills or processing centers.
