Nutritional Counseling Presentation Guidelines
- Using MyFitnessPal, evaluate a 3-day diet of a friend or family member (not a classmate).
- You must use the diet forms provided and type in the food choices for the three days.
- Include recommendations for improving nutrition as measured by intake of sugar, fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and Calcium
- A PDF file including 3 day food diary and MyFitnessPal reports to support your analysis must be submitted Sunday, March 17
- The presentation is to be a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 7 minutes (excluding questions from the instructor or audience).
Visual Aids
Each student must use one or more visual aids when presenting the topic.
PowerPoint Presentation. Remember that the purpose of a PowerPoint presentation is to present information. The software is merely a tool. Make sure you know the information you are presenting.
Poster Board or Flip Charts. These can take many different forms. They should include pictures (or photographs), diagrams, charts or graphs. Charts or graphs are especially useful when you want to show your audience numbers or statistics.
If a student would like to use another type of visual aid please contact the instructor for approval.
Professional Appearance
- Don’t confuse club attire with professional attire. If you would wear it to a club, you should not wear it in a professional environment.
- Clothing that is too tight, too short, reveals cleavage, your back, your stomach or your underwear is not appropriate professional attire.
- Athletic wear as well as denim material in any style (dress, shirt, skirt or pants) or color is not appropriate attire.
- Facial or oral jewelry are not appropriate.
- Earrings for females are limited to one earring per ear. No earrings are acceptable for males.
- Any visible tattoos are not appropriate.
